ANIMAL LOCOMOTION POSTER

24" x 36" Poster in English,
18" x 24" Poster in English or Spanish.

"Life in a Fluid": the relationship of the Reynolds number to animal locomotion.

The illustration shows how animals experience fluid at various Reynolds numbers and, based on this, the type of locomotion they use to move. It is interesting to note that a whale and an albatross behave the same way even though they propell themselves through fluids of different compositions (water vs. air).
